Brandon W, co-founder

Brandon grew up in Seattle in the International District/Chinatown area raised mainly by his grandma while his parents ran and owned the Atlas Chinese Restaurant.

As a youth he was involved with community service, but his activism today is shaped mainly by his experiences of organizing inside Washington State prisons. After being released, and having experienced the positive changes that projects like the Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Awareness Group can create to transform people in prison, Brandon started working with individuals coming out of prison. Co-founded FIGHT as part of his work to end the school-to-prison-to-deportation pipeline and to support formerly and currently incarcerated individuals to maintain hope and stay on a positive path.
